The Candyman’s neighbours sell their luxury homes in the private Gold Coast estate

Neighbours living near the notorious Candy Shop Mansion in the River Cove Estate on the Gold Coast are selling their luxury homes.

Polyamorous tobacco tycoon Travers Beynon, a.k.a. The Candyman, has been throwing wild parties at his gaudy palace for years, and it seems some locals now want out of the gated riverside community.

Two properties in the Helensvale cul-de-sac have been listed for more than a million dollars, according to Realestate.com.au.

Alex Phillis, of Alex Phillis Real Estate, told realestate.com.au that in recent years the businessman’s parties have been ‘pretty quiet’.

He said buyers are drawn to the gated community because of its ‘safe environment’.

‘The fact that it is tucked away and it is a private, gated estate where you get more bang for your buck while being right next to Hope Island,’ added Mr Phillis.
