Samantha Jade proves she’s standing by her fiancé Pat Handlin in gushing radio interview

Samantha Jade has proved she’s stronger than ever with her fiancé Pat Handlin, just weeks after he was put on indefinite leave from his role at Sony Music.

On Thursday, the loved-up 34-year-old gushed about her relationship with ‘Patty’ during a sweet interview on The Kyle and Jackie O Show.

While she made no mention of recent events, Samantha heavily praised her husband-to-be before discussing the ‘most romantic thing’ she’s ever done for him.

‘Do you know what I did yesterday that I think is romantic? I watched the Origin. While I played Candy Crush, but I watched it,’ she laughed to co-hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson.

Samantha, who has been engaged to Pat for two years, went on to discuss the pair’s first kiss.

‘I feel like it was in an Uber, I don’t remember…’ she said, causing Kyle to respond: ‘You guys were macking on, and the Uber driver was just sitting there?’

She added that while many girls panic about getting ghosted after a first date, she had no such issue.

‘He was so sweet – he’s great on text,’ she added. ‘He was always a great texter in the beginning.

‘I think that’s good for a guy. I was lucky I didn’t have that problem with Patty.’

It was revealed last month that two more Sony Music Australia executives had been stood down following the abrupt departure of long-serving chairman Denis Handlin.

This included Pat, who is Handlin’s son, and worked as the vice president of artists and repertoire at the music company.

He was placed on indefinite leave, along with the senior vice president of human resources Mark Stebnicki, reported The Sydney Morning Herald.

Pat joined the company in 2006 as an intern before rising up the ranks to A&R boss.

He left Sony and Australia in September 2016 to become senior A&R manager for Simon Cowell’s Syco Music label in London.

But he returned to Sony Music Australia’s Sydney headquarters in 2018, where he was promoted to vice president of A&R, according to The Music Network.

Chairman and chief executive Denis Handlin resigned as the company investigates its other workers over allegations of bullying and harassment.

Sony Music’s global chairman Rob Stringer announced the departure of Handlin – the longest-serving Sony Music employee anywhere in the world – in an internal email to staff at 10.28am on June 21.

‘I am writing to let you know that Denis Handlin will be leaving Sony Music Entertainment after more than 50 years with the company, effectively immediately,’ Mr Stringer wrote.

‘It is time for a change in leadership and I will be making further announcements in terms of the new direction of our business in Australia and New Zealand in due course.’

Handlin Snr is one of the most powerful and influential figures in the music industry, helping bands and stars like Delta Goodrem, Jessica Mauboy and Gang of Youths achieve international fame.

Stringer went on to thank Handlin Snr for his ‘extraordinary contribution’ to the company.

Handlin Snr’s departure came after it was revealed Sony Music was investigating claims of bullying and harassment within its Australian office.

Daily Mail Australia is not suggesting Handlin, his son Pat or Stebnicki are involved in any of the allegations.

Samantha announced her engagement to Pat in January 2019, after they reportedly started dating around mid-2017.
