‘I did it for a PrettyLittleThing deal’: Zara McDermott reveals the REAL reason she went on Love Island as she admits she was seeking fame, cash and brand deals over romance
Love Island 2018 star Zara McDermott has confessed she appeared on the show for fame and fortune rather than in a bid to fall in love.
The influencer, 24, was discussing Wednesday night’s show with her boyfriend Sam Thompson, who was hitting out at Islander Lucinda about her intentions on the show, which has seen many stars score millions in brand deals when they leave.
As the couple discussed the fact that Lucinda did not leave with Brad, Sam said: ‘She doesn’t give a s***!’ before saying she was vying for a PrettyLittleThing collaboration, to which Zara said: ‘I was there for a PLT deal!’

Zara shot to fame on Love Island’s fourth season, where she became embroiled in a love triangle with Adam Collard and Rosie Williams.
She left the villa with Adam and they dated for a year before an acrimonious split before she met and started dating Sam later that year.
While many Love Island stars insist they enter the villa with the hope of finding last love, spots on the show have often been hugely lucrative.
Their discussion opened after Brad and Lucinda had to choose one of them to go home, with the former offering as he said there were more ‘opportunities’ for the latter, however this caused ructions over her intentions.

Despite insisting she was after money not love, Sam and Zara were not convinced.
Sam said: ‘She’s not shocked at all! She literally couldn’t be happier. The PLT deal is still in effect! He goes, ‘I’m going to go’ and she goes, ‘Are you sure?’…
‘She doesn’t give a s***! He [Jake] cares more than she does!’
After Islander Faye kicked off at Lucinda for her intentions, Sam queried to his Islander girlfriend: ‘Goose, why has Faye made it all about her?’

Zara said: ‘I wish I knew the answer to that. I was there for a PLT deal!’ Sam then said: ‘They’re all there for a PLT deal!’
It seems she got her dream in one way of another as she has her own edit with PrettyLittleThing’s rival brand Missguided.
She has scored a legion of brand ambassador roles and even a slot on Made In Chelsea when she started dating Sam yet stepped back from the role.
