Beauty and the Geek: Sophie Monk reveals that only two geeks have been kissed

Sophie Monk has revealed that only two of the geeks on this year’s season of Beauty and the Geek had ever been kissed before appearing on the show.

The 41-year-old TV host made the admission on Nova FM’s Fitzy & Wippa on Friday.

‘I think only two of them out of the 10 have ever had a first kiss,’ she said, leaving radio presenters Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald and Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli shocked.

Wippa, 41, said their lack of experience was ‘extraordinary’, to which Sophie replied: ‘Isn’t it? Yeah, they’re in their thirties a few of them.’

Turning to her own love life, Sophie spoke about the moment she knew her fiancé Joshua Gross was ‘The One’.

Sophie met the 42-year-old businessman on a flight from Europe to Australia in 2019, and they kissed after a few champagnes in business class.

‘You know what it was? I was offloading and he was really listening, and I was like, “Wow, this guy’s listening to everything!”‘ she said. 

Sophie confirmed her engagement to the robotics consultant in January.

The Love Island Australia host shared a photo of her engagement ring on Instagram, and shared details of how Joshua proposed. 

‘Told you I’d tell you guys first. I’m engaged. I honestly can’t thank you enough for all the love and support,’ she wrote. 

‘I know I have the coolest people following me and you’ve always had my back and I feel so cared about. You’re absolute bloody legends. I’m not very good at being mushy. I’m trying to say I absolutely adore you.’

She added: ‘@joshuargross and I are so happy.’
