Courtney Stodden takes a subtle swipe at Chrissy Teigen in sharing apology from actor Jason Biggs

Courtney Stodden on Thursday shared an apology from American Pie actor Jason Biggs, indirectly casting the spotlight on Chrissy Teigen, who Stodden implied they have not received a personal apology from, for nasty social media comments Teigen wrote a decade back.

‘This is what a personal apology looks like,’ the singer/model, 26, who identifies as non-binary, captioned the tweet. ‘Everyone makes mistakes but not everyone takes real accountability. Jason, I felt this. I wish you love and immense success to you and your family @JasonBiggs.’

The message from Biggs read: ‘Hi Courtney – I wanted to drop you a note to say that I’m sorry for any tweet that I made in the past that may have hurt your feelings. They were meant to be jokes – but they were at your expense, and knowing how you feel, that makes them not funny at all.’

The actor, 43, continued: ‘I am trying my best this days to live a clean and sober life, one in which I make good and healthy decisions – and that means taking accountability for the bad decisions I’ve made in the past.’

He wrapped up in saying, ‘I wish you nothing but the best and happiness and success always. XO Jason.’

Teigen has come under fire in recent months for toxic social media behavior, some relating to Stodden, who first made headlines in 2011 at 16 when they wed a then-50-year-old Doug Hutchison, the actor best known for his roles in 1999’s The Green Mile and on the ABC TV show Lost.

In one instance in October of 2011, Teigen wrote, ‘Saying courtney stodden’s FB age got shut down for being too sexy is like saying the nazi’s were just meanies. As in, not quite.’

In another tweet the model/cookbook author directed at Stodden in early 2012, she wrote, ‘I hate you;’ in other tweets over the years, Teigen compared Stodden to an ‘animal’ and took other jabs at their person.

Teigen, who is married to superstar singer John Legend, had apologized publicly in May to Stodden in a tweet.

‘I’m mortified and sad at who I used to be, I was an insecure, attention seeking troll,’ she wrote. ‘I am ashamed and completely embarrassed at my behavior but that is nothing compared to how I made Courtney feel.’

Teigen on Wednesday took to Instagram to open up about how she’s coping among the public controversy.

‘Just feels so weird to pretend nothing happened in this online world but feel like utter s*** in real life,’ Teigen wrote. ‘Going outside sucks and doesn’t feel right, being at home alone with my mind makes my depressed head race.

‘But I do know that however I’m handling this now isn’t the right answer. I feel lost and need to find my place again.’

She added that ‘cancel club is a fascinating thing’ and she has learned a lot amid the troubled times.

‘Only a few understand it and it’s impossible to know til you’re in it,’ she said. ‘And it’s hard to talk about it in that sense because obviously you sound whiney when you’ve clearly done something wrong. It just sucks. There is no winning.’
