Maggie Gyllenhaal cuts an elegant figure in a flowing red and gold gown for Cannes closing ceremony

She’s been a fixture on the red carpet during two weeks of film showcases.

And Maggie Gyllenhaal was once again the picture of elegance in a flowing gold and red halterneck gown as she arrived for the closing evening of the 2021 Cannes Film Festival.

The actress, 43, posed in an eye-catching dress that boasted a dramatic red ruffled skirt and a satin bodice for the premiere of French spy caper OSS 117: From Africa With Love.

Maggie posed up a storm in the plunging dress that boasted a revealing halterneck bodice before flowing into an oversized scarlet skirt.

The Honourable Woman star finished her look with matching peeptoe heels, and her brunette bob in a loosely-curled style.

As part of the jury, Maggie has chosen the winners of Cannes alongside by a nine-member Jury, which also includes Spike Lee, Song Kang-Ho, and Melanie Laurent.

The gongs will be handed out at the end of the Festival on July 17, with films by Leos Carax, Wes Anderson, Sean Penn, and Paul Verhoeven all in the running.

Maggie is an Academy Award-nominated actress, producer, writer and director, beginning her career appearing in the cult favorite Donnie Darko in 2001).

She starred in a breakout role in 2002’s Secretary, followed by Sherrybaby in 2006.

Both of these performances saw her nominated for a Golden Globe.

Further credits include World Trade Center (2006), The Dark Knight (2008), Crazy Heart (2009). The latter earned the actress her first Oscar nomination.

She has also worked on The Honourable Woman (2014), The Deuce (2017), The Kindergarten Teacher (2018) and recently adapted and directed her first feature film, The Lost Daughter.
