Camila Cabello releases music video for lead single Don’t Go Yet from upcoming third album Familia

Camila Cabello released a video for her new song Don’t Go Yet on Thursday from her upcoming third studio album Familia.

The 24-year-old Cuban-American singer took to social media to share her first single of 2021 along with a music video directed by Philippa Price and Pilar Zeta.

‘#DontGoYet is the first song from my next album, Familia. This album was inspired by two things: family & food. Your family by blood, but also your chosen family. Who you want to sit at the dinner table, get wine-drunk, & dance in the living room with,’ Camila posted for her roughly 12.3 million followers on Twitter.

She added: ‘To me, those are the moments that make me glad to be alive, those moments of collective joy & true vulnerability & connection with other people. I hope you enjoy it & I hope it inspires many wine drunk kitchen dance parties for you & your familia.’

The music video available on YouTube opened with Camila driving solo in a convertible and changing the station on the car radio.

The video then changed to a stop motion animation style as a toy-like version of the car drove up a dirt road to a big home.

Camila back in live action rang the door bell and was warmly greeted into a lively, colorful party that featured some of her actual family members, including her father, sister and cousin.

‘The album’s journey started with @scottharris123 and our makeshift studio in my bedroom in Miami about a year ago. We just had a mic, some MIDI keyboards and guitars! Then we brought it to LA where I met and worked with @mikesabath for the first time,’ she posted along with the video for her roughly 54 million followers.

‘That first day of working together, we wrote this song after listening to old Cuban songs and playing with my dog Tarzan. Then @rickyreed (who side-gigs as my therapist sometimes LOL) put his sauce alllll over it. These guys have become my true friends and we created a really loving and inspiring creative space,’ she added.

Don’t Go Yet marked the first solo music released by Camila since she released her second studio album Romance in 2019.
