Former Victoria’s Secret model Bridget Malcolm reveals she now finds it ‘hard to care’ how she looks after recovering from eating disorder

Bridget Malcolm has revealed how she’s changed the way she views herself and the world around her, after recovering from an eating disorder. 

The former Victoria’s Secret model, 29, tells this week’s issue of Body+Soul Magazine that she no longer cares so much about how she looks. 

‘After having an eating disorder for so long, I have learnt to get my sense of self from inside; from my desire to create positive, lasting change in the world around me,’ she told the magazine.

In the new issue, Bridget, who poses in sleek, brown swimsuit, adds: ‘It’s hard to care about how I look when that is what drives me’. 

It comes after the model revealed that she still suffers from long-term health implications caused by her disorder.   

Penning a blog post on her website, Bridget wrote: ‘A decade of starving myself has left me with some terrible lingering health problems.

In the new issue, Bridget, who poses in sleek, brown swimsuit, adds: 'It's hard to care about how I look when that is what drives me.

‘I have real problems with my hormones, as well as some body injuries that will never heal. I do not digest food well, nor do I tolerate certain foods at all.’   

Bridget added that she had to ‘make peace’ with the fact that she brought these health problems upon herself. 

‘There was no point tearing myself (or others) down for it – all I could do was adapt and try to live as best I can,’ she said.

Bridget, who hails from Perth, has enjoyed a successful career as a model, having walked the runway for Peter Som, Kenneth Cole, Tibi, Band of Outsiders, Rodarte, Ralph Lauren and Hache.

She came to prominence in 2015 when she starred in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in New York. 

However, the blonde has since accused the lingerie giant of promoting unhealthy beauty standards.
