Newcomer Alex Yee secured the second silver medal for TeamGB with an outstanding performance in the Men’s triathlon in sweltering conditions in Tokyo this morning.
The 23-year-old had hoped to make it three successive Olympic British victories at the Games at his Olympic debut.
But he was pipped at the post in the final event by Kristian Blummenfelt from Norway.
TeamGB is also hoping to add to their collection of medals on Monday as Tom Daly and swimmer Adam Peaty go for gold.

Yee staggered over the line to win silver, just seconds behind the winner who collapsed after securing gold.
Speaking after his dramatic performance the young athlete from south-east London told how his medal had made his dream come true.
He said: ‘I am over the moon. I was already deep in the well and dug that little bit in my soul.
‘[But] it wasn’t enough to catch Kristian Blummenfelt but it was enough to get silver.’

Asked how he felt at winning a medal on his Olympic debut, Yee said: ‘A bit bizarre really.
‘I’m just a normal guy from south-east London. Dreams really do come true.’
He went on to apologise to his supporters for not replying to their messages.
Yee said: ‘Sorry to everyone that I didn’t reply to on Instagram.
‘I’ve had my head down for days but I love you all so much.
‘My mum always says it takes a village to build a person and I think it’s taken the whole of GB today.
‘I’m just over the moon so thanks so much.’
In just a couple of hours, world record holder Peaty will be plunging into the pool at 3.12am this morning for the men’s 100m breaststroke final where he is hoping to win gold.
Peaty, who was a gold medallist in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, came first in the semi-final at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre on Sunday after an emphatic performance.

He beat China’s Yan Zibei in second place and USA’s Michael Andrew in third by more than a second.
Meanwhile, Daly will be competing at 7am in his fourth Olympic Games and will be hoping to win gold with Matty Lee in the men’s 10m synchronised diving platform final.
In the same event, Daley won bronze with Daniel Goodfellow five years ago at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Briton’s Tom Pidcock will be aiming to win gold in the men’s mountain bike cross country at 7am as the 21-year-old is one of the favourites in the race.
