Exes Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have been on vacation in St Tropez this week as they have fun on their respective yachts – she is on the $130M Valerie and he is on the smaller $32M Ocean Paradise.
It seems like odd timing for the 52-year-old La Cambia Paso singer and the 46-year-old former Yankee to be in the same location at the same time given they ended their engagement in April.
But on Wednesday a source explained to UsWeekly just how the superstars came to be within yelling distance of each other which has threatened at least one accidental face-to-face as she gets close to Ben Affleck and he has fun with Melanie Collins.

The insider explained that Alex had offered to take Jennifer to the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region of southeastern France before they broke up.
He wanted the Hustlers actress to spend her 52nd birthday in the beautiful seaside town on his dime, it was alleged.
Her birthday fell on July 24 and his was on July 27 so it made sense to make a big deal of the trip.
The plan was to spend time together in the coastal town on the French Riviera while on a super yacht.
But when they split up, Alex figured he would still go without her, a source told UsWeekly.

And the two did not seem to check with each other before they took off for their trips with their new love interests – JLo is with former fiance Affleck, 48, and Alex appears to be with TV personality Collins, 35.
‘Jen and Alex had planned to go to the French Riviera for J. Lo’s birthday this year and neither of them changed their plans,’ the source explained.
‘Alex didn’t know Jen would still be going, but he wasn’t fazed when he found out her boat was nearby.’

On Instagram on his birthday he said: ‘I’m feeling so grateful today, not just for celebrating my big day with my incredible friends and family on this magical trip, but for all of the well-wishes, love and support from everyone. I couldn’t ask for anything more.’
Meanwhile a source told E! News that Jen is not fazed either: ‘She knew A-Rod was around, but he’s the last thing on her mind and she could care less what he does. She’s totally in love with Ben and only has eyes for him. She has moved on and is not looking back. She’s very relieved that she is out of that relationship and done with him for good.’

DailyMail.com exclusively revealed how Jen narrowly avoided bumping into Alex after they made separate reservations at the same restaurant – the fancy Bagatelle St. Tropez – on the French Riviera.
‘JLo had made a reservation at the same restaurant, the same day,’ a St. Tropez insider revealed.
‘Her assistant turned up to check everything was OK, and there was A-Rod having lunch. She alerted JLo and the reservation was quickly cancelled.’
Jen and Alex began dating in 2017 and as they spent time in Miami, their kids – she has twins Max and Emme with ex Marc Anthony, he has Bella and Natasha with ex Cynthia Scurtis – became close.

They’re fully committed to taking the next steps and spending the rest of their lives together.’
