The trailer begins with Charles Boyle (Joe Lo Truglio) telling Jake Peralta (Samberg) that he’s, ‘scared my time with you will be cut short.’

The trailer cuts to a number of flashback scenes as Charles adds, ‘No more stakeouts, or drinks after a long shift or the midnight calls when you’ve had a breakthrough in a case.’

Charles adds he’s always, ‘had this image of us in our 90s hunting down criminals in the retirement home, but I guess that was just a dumb fantasy.’

Charles then glances at Jake and asks if he’s crying, to which Jake responds, ‘No… Yes.’

Captain Holt (Andre Braugher) tells Rosa (Stephanie Beatriz), ‘I seem to have sent a digital phallus portrait,’ as Rosa shockingly proclaims, ‘Oh no you sent him a d**k pic.’

Another scene shows Amy (Melissa Fumero) revealing to Holt that other districts sent them, ‘their Hitchcock and Scullys,’ referencing the older, unproductive detectives in their precinct (played by Dirk Blocker and Joel McKinnon Miller).

Another scene shows Jake and Amy freaking out because each of them thought the other was supposed to be getting their son Matt from daycare.

Jake tells the team that his co-workers are his family, adding, ‘Holt is my dad, you’re (Rosa) my mean older sister, Amy is my mom,’ which does not sit well with his wife Amy.

Another quick shot appears to reveal the return of Doug Judy, a.k.a. The Pontiac Bandit, played by Craig Robinson, though his face isn’t shown in the shot.

Jake also corrects Captain Holt, who pronounces, ‘no big whoop’ with the ‘h,’ which Jake says is wrong.

The trailer winds down with various shots of the main characters, and some returning faces like Chelsea Peretti’s Gina Linetti and Jason Mantzoukas’ Adiran Pimento, who is seen with a knife to Jake’s neck.

Another shot does confirm Doug Judy’s return, in a rather surprising fashion, as he’s seen wearing an NYPD jacket while walking with Jake.
