The best of Friends! Lisa Kudrow receives heartwarming birthday tributes from pals Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox as she turns 58

She celebrated her 58th birthday on Friday.

And Lisa Kudrow received heartwarming tributes on Instagram that day from her Friends co-stars Courteney Cox and Jennifer Aniston.

Courteney uploaded a selfie with Lisa taken on the set of the show during the taping of the HBO Max reunion special earlier this year.

‘Happy birthday my Loot. You are the most unique, loving, direct, honest, smart, funny, talented, serious competitive gamer I know,’ wrote Courteney.

‘Not to mention talented writer, loving mother and wife. And that’s just the beginning of the list. Thanks for bringing so much joy into all of our lives. I love you.’

She added as a joke for Friends fans: ‘Ps. I just have one question… Did you ever find out what they were feeding smelly cat?’

The line was a reference to Lisa’s character Phoebe who writes and sings a song called Smelly Cat that begins: ‘Smelly cat, smelly cat, what are they feeding you?’

Shortly after the reunion dropped Lisa put fans on alert to watch out for a blink-and-miss-it tender moment on the new Friends reunion.

In fact the gesture passes by so fast that even Lisa told E! News she would never have noticed it if David had not brought it to her attention.

At the beginning of the reunion special the six principal actors arrived at the set of Courteney’s character Monica’s apartment where much of the show takes place.

Courteney was one of the last to show up and saw that Lisa, Jennifer, David and Matt were already there sharing their memories.

Matt had in fact been telling a story about him and Courteney when she appeared so he started it over for her benefit – and that was when he wiped her eyes.

‘Well, Courteney comes in and burst into tears and I grab a napkin or a tissue – LeBlanc takes it because he is telling us a story and doesn’t want to skip a beat and starts dabbing her eyes, just on automatic. That’s who we were!’ said Lisa.

He recalled that Courteney at one point ‘had this big speech and you were struggling with it all week long and you wrote it on the table, and then just – and I didn’t know that that’s what you did.’

Matt added: ‘And I saw it and I asked you and you told me to mind my business, so when you weren’t looking I erased it before we shot it and you got so mad at me!’

‘That’s so mean! Why would you erase it?’ said Courteney with a smile and Matt who could barely control his laughter said: ‘Just to get you!’
