But on Tuesday, Cody Simpson didn’t have a care in the world as he went surfing on the Gold Coast.
The 24-year-old looked incredibly fit in a black wetsuit from surfing brand Rip Curl.

After riding the waves, Cody paddled out to shore and pulled down his wetsuit to reveal his ripped torso.
Cody’s trainer Brett Hawke recently shared an inspirational message about the singer.
On Friday, Brett uploaded a photo to Instagram of the pair standing next to the backyard pool in LA where they’d initially started training in a year ago.

‘Twelve months ago during a global pandemic he was a famous pop star. A few days ago he swam 52 in the 100 fly LCM and made the Australian Olympic trials final, he said.
Reflecting on Cody’s admirable effort, Brett went on to say it’s important to remember your goals are always within reach.
‘If you didn’t reach your goals over the last year it’s because you chose not to. It’s so frustrating to hear people make excuses. Life is tough. Nothing will change that,’ he said.

Hinting that Cody’s sporting dreams aren’t over yet, he added that people should stop looking for reasons to fail and start finding ways to make things happen.
‘If you want something bad enough you’ll find a way to make it happen,’ he said.
‘You can do anything you want In life. [By the way] our training started in this pool behind us.’
Cody narrowly missed out on a place at this year’s Tokyo Olympics last week.

The young star, who made a bold charge at Olympic glory after many years away from the sport, placed last in the men’s 100-metre butterfly final.
After the race at the Australian Swimming Trials, the singer vowed to ‘come back stronger next year.’
He also stated his intentions to aim for a place at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
‘What an experience racing at my first Australian Olympic Trials. To make a final was our goal this year and with less than a year of training we did just that,’ he wrote.

‘I’ve come so much further than I expected to this year and to be racing the best in the country already is a privilege.’
He also admitted he didn’t think he’d be ‘remotely competitive until at least next year at the earliest’ and had thereby exceeded his own expectations.
Cody debuted his romance with Marloes in January this year. It came four months after ending his relationship with American pop singer Miley Cyrus.
