Arnold Schwarzenegger shares his excitement about becoming a grandfather

He’s famous worldwide as the Terminator as well as the former governor of California, but what he’s most excited about now is becoming a grandfather.

Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed some exciting news on Monday night, when he mentioned that his pregnant daughter Katherine Schwarzenegger is due to give birth ‘sometime this summer’ while chatting on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

The action star, 72, went on to muse about the incredible ‘gene pool’ this baby will have – from the Kennedys (thanks to his ex-wife Maria Shriver), his own Schwarzenegger genes, and those of Katherine’s husband Chris Pratt – an action star in his own right. 

While he was a remote guest of Fallon’s, the elder Schwarzenegger was clearly quite excited about the prospect of becoming a grandad.   

‘I mean, that is really exciting news that Katherine now, you know [to] be pregnant and have a baby—I don’t know when exactly. Sometime this summer,’ Arnold told Jimmy. 

‘And, inevitably, I’m really looking forward to playing around with whatever it is, she or he, and have some fun.’

And referencing his future grandchild’s gene pool, he joked: ‘We can do anything, we can solve the Cuban missile crisis, we can go and kill [terrorists] with our bare hands, and we go and train dinosaurs,’ referring at the end to Pratt’s post as a velociraptor wrangler in the Jurassic World franchise. 

‘I mean think about it. That is a lot of power here!’

‘Worst thing is, if this kid ends up with my accent,’ the True Lies movie star added. ‘That’s what we don’t want.’ 

The news comes after Arnold was seen Friday preparing to go for his daily bike ride with his son (and uncle-to-be) Patrick, 26. 

While Arnold was preparing to set out on his daily cruise through town on his bike with bodybuilding best friend Ralf Moeller, Patrick was seen on his red ElliptiGo elliptical bicycle.

Patrick was dressed for the sunny outing in a grey striped Nike athletic top and New Balance black gym shorts, along with leggings and a blue and white baseball cap.

Arnold’s baseball cap, meanwhile, had the word ‘Sheriff’ on it, and he wore a blue t-shirt with his own likeness on it from his days as a bodybuilding champion. 

He completed his outfit with black shorts and slip on shoes. 

The Schwarzenegger family as a whole clearly likes to stay active and fit, as Katherine, 30, was even seen on a bike herself in late April just as news of her pregnancy was breaking.

And since, the mother-to-be has often been seen out for walks on her own or with family members, dressed in athletic wear herself.
