Cesar Azpilicueta says Giovani Lo Celso should have been sent off for a stamp on the defender which was controversially deemed as not serious foul play by VAR.
The midfielder appeared to stamp on the Spaniard during a coming together between the players during Chelsea‘s 2-1 win over Tottenham and, after a lengthy check, VAR ruled that it was not a red card offence.
Later after the decision was made VAR admitted that they had got it wrong, and the Chelsea captain said he felt it would be a red card as soon as it happened.

‘Honestly you know I’m not l a player I like to be on the floor because I’m a defender I’m tough and I make fouls,’ Azpilicueta told BT Sport after the game.
‘It was a clear stamp on my shin and I felt it straight away and I was surprised it was not a red card and not even a yellow card.
‘Obviously everybody can make mistakes but when you have a lot of replays it could make it easier. ‘
After a lengthy check by VAR, it was decided that the incident was not a red card offence
