‘I won’t be back until the baby’s born’: Pregnant Vogue Williams laments not being able to return to Ireland due to lockdown… and confesses she ‘really misses’ her Dublin home

She is awaiting the arrival of her second child with husband Spencer Matthews. 

And while Vogue Williams is certainly excited, she confesses it is with a heavy heart that she cannot return home to her native Ireland due to the global coronavirus pandemic before the birth of her baby in July. 

The TV and radio host, 34, was speaking to fellow Irish star Darren Kennedy on his The Secret Life of Celebrity Pets YouTube series, during which she was joined by her beloved dog Winston as she chatted about her son Theodore, 20 months.

Vogue announced she is expecting her second child with Spencer, who she married in June 2018, earlier this year and she is now in lockdown with the rest of the nation.

On how she’s dealing with lockdown, Vogue said: ‘It isn’t too bad, I just miss home. I go home to Dublin a fair bit. I probably won’t be going back until the baby’s born.’

Darren’s sweet podcast sees stars talk about their dogs and Vogue was joined by her beloved Winston as she revealed how the pup gets along with Theodore. 

On finding the pup, she said: ‘Winnie came from Sydney and he was a gift eight years ago. Eight’s young for a dog. He’s a part of the family. He’s really well behaved.

‘I’ve never sent him to kennels because there’s loads of people who want to look after him. He is a beagle cavalier and you could only get them in Oz when I got him.’

Speaking about how Winnie adjusted to life with Theodore and how they will prepare for their new bundle of joy, he said: ‘He wasn’t too happy when Theodore came along but now they play together all the time… 

‘I don’t leave alone but Winnie’s never done anything. They’re gonna be like why is there a baby in this house. When he was born, I sent one of Theodore’s blankets back with my mum so Winnie could get his smell… 

‘He’s not bothered about much, he came and gave him a sniff.’

Discussing the perks of having a dog, he said: ‘The best thing about having a dog is companionship. They’re never annoyed at you, they never hold a grudge and who will be that excited to see you.’

On how she relaxes, she said: ‘Sometimes take a step back and relax. People are always go go go and I think this experience of lockdown has made me feel its ok to sit back and enjoy family time. relaxing and enjoying life for what it is is a nice thing.’

Her own means of unwinding are some what different, as Vogue went on: ‘I can’t bear meditation. I even avoid stretches. I always feel that if you are negative or project negativity it comes back at you.’

In a more practical edge on the conversation, Darren asked if Vogue has insurance for the pup, as she said: ‘I don’t have insurance for Winston and the vet said i cant because hes older. If I get a puppy I will because vet bills can be huge.’
