David Beckham shares a rare throwback photo of his sister Lynne as he marks her 49th birthday

David Beckham has shared a rare throwback photo of his sister Lynne in celebration of her 49th birthday.

Taking to Instagram over the weekend, the ex-footballer, 45, poked fun at his older sibling by sharing an image of the fellow Leytonstone native as a teenager, alongside the caption: ‘Happy birthday sis [laughing emoji] @lynnebeckhambriggs1972.’ [sic]

The media personality and the former receptionist are on good terms, over two decades after their relationship became strained due to her marriage to husband Colin.

Unlike her brother and sister, We Are Your City founder Joanne, 38, Lynne maintains a relatively private personal life.

Last year, it was reported that the eldest of the clan was forced to sell her belongings online, despite brand Beckham being worth around £339m.

The Sun claimed Lynne was flogging used children’s clothes on Facebook for around £2, as well as old football boots, baby blankets and patio slabs.

The former Manchester United ace has helped her financially in the past, having paid around £250,000 for the Romford home she still lives in around ten years ago.

David’s post came after his family suffered a partial flood in their Cotswold home after one of their family members left the bath running.

Victoria, 46, revealed a repairman called Des O’Connor had called round to help them fix the issue.

Documenting the drama on her Instagram stories, she shared a video of a handyman who had been called to help sort out the flooding.

Explaining the situation, the fashion designer wrote: ‘Socially-distanced emergency repair visit from Des O’Connor! Who knew?! Worth having a minor flooding incident with an overfilled bath for.’

Des explained his plan in the clip as he said: ‘Hello, I’m Des O’Connor. Came to help David and Victoria following their flood in the house…

‘My dehumidifiers will help dry out this flooring and the carpet. Hope to get them back to right as soon as possible.’

However the couple soon forgot about the drama, as the former footballer, 45, shared snaps of the couple out on a country walk.

Victoria later showed off her playful side as she mocked her husband David’s hat, joking it looked as if it had been ran over, as the couple enjoyed the countryside walk.

David, shared the snap of himself and his wife of almost 21 years as they made the most of the glorious British weather.

The pair were dressed accordingly for their excursion, with Victoria, 46, donning a casual khaki jacket, a white T-shirt and distressed denim jeans.

While David rocked a wool jacket, white T-shirt and brown corduroy trousers, topped off with a tweed hat.

However, Posh Spice didn’t approve of the hat as David declared in his caption.

He wrote : ‘Saturday sunshine walk but someone isn’t overly impressed with my hat. I obviously love it @victoriabeckham.’

And Victoria once again let her thoughts on her husband’s choice of head wear be known as she decided to leave a cheeky remark in the comments.

She penned: ‘The hat looked ok before someone ran it over’ followed by a slew of funny emojis.

Her remark left fans tickled as it received thousands of likes, with the couple’s good pal Elton John even responding with his own laughing emojis.

While Tom Brady commented: ‘Nothing better than a walk with your #1.’

It comes as the couple are reportedly amping up their security at their Cotswolds home by building a secret getaway tunnel.

The plans come just weeks after footballer Dele Alli was robbed at knifepoint at his North London home and Robbie Williams spoke about his break-in fears.

According to planning documents obtained by the Express, the family are planning an underground link between their home and garage, as well as a wine cellar.

David and Victoria have been spending lockdown in their Cotswolds home with three of their children, Romeo, 17, Cruz, 15, and Harper, eight.

Planning agents for the property said: ‘The proposed development includes a new basement cellar constructed beneath the extension to the existing garage outbuilding with a linked walkway.

‘The basement cellar beneath is for storage of wine and the proposed use of the outbuilding is solely in association with the main dwelling house, it will improve security for the occupants of the property.

‘The proposed [garage] extension adds three new bays to the existing garage outbuilding, increasing the building from four bays to seven.’

Representatives for the Beckhams have been approached for comment.
