Party-loving Brits across the country have taken to Twitter to share pictures of how they are recreating Glastonbury in their garden, after the coronavirus pandemic saw the 50th anniversary of the festival cancelled.
The festival had originally been due to take place this weekend, from June 25-29, however virtual celebrations will be aired instead.
Taylor Swift, Paul McCartney and Kendrick Lamar were due to headline at Worthy Farm, Somerset, from June 24 to 28.
And would-be revellers certainly didn’t let lockdown dampen their spirits, going all out with vibrant outfits, face paint, and booze-a-plenty – even pitching tents and faux stalls in their own gardens.
Many used the hashtag ‘GlastHOMEbury’, an online replacement of the festival, that has been organised by Sarah Emberson.

The charity worker revealed the initiative back in March, and confirmed that they would be raising money for charity while encouraging social media users to watch the BBC’s TV line-up of acts including David Bowie.
The virtual home event is not officially linked to Glastonbury, but has its backing and will see Glasto-lovers purchase six tickets for their government-approved ‘bubble’ – with proceeds from tickets going to Mind; NHS Charities Together, the NSPCC, Refuge and The Trussell Trust, and a nationwide network of food banks.
Sarah told BristolLive: ‘Back at the end of March we thought ‘what will we do without Glastonbury? It’s their 50th year!’
Chris Johnston chose a bubble of four friends for the virtual festival, which sees ticket profits donated to various charities. The group even had signs pointing to the closest ‘bar’

‘We want people to recreate the festival experience at home, whilst watching and listening to Glastonbury on the BBC, this year is all about nostalgia.
‘Their TV line-up looks amazing and we get to watch David Bowie’s set, which is always the one that fellow Glasto fans say really stands out. I’m excited to see it.’
Festival bosses took the decision to axe the event before 1 April, when festival-goers were due to pay the remaining balance of their £270 tickets.
Tickets will be rolled over until June 2021, when the festival has been rescheduled for.

In a statement, the founders wrote: ‘We are so sorry to announce this, but Glastonbury 2020 will have to be cancelled, and this will be an enforced fallow year for the Festival.
‘Clearly this was not a course of action we hoped to take for our 50th anniversary event, but following the new government measures announced this week – and in times of such unprecedented uncertainty – this is now our only viable option.
‘We very much hope that the situation in the UK will have improved by the end of June.
‘But even if it has, we are no longer able to spend the next three months here with the thousands of crew here on the farm, helping us with the enormous job of building the infrastructure and attractions to welcome more than 200,000 people to a temporary city in these fields.’
