Immortal camp rages again – Demonaz and Horgh fight for the right to a band name

The matter is being discussed in the courtroom until.

Arm wrestling Immortalthe name of the band and the right to it continues. First divorced from the band Olve “Abbath” Eikemo twisted the peep the remaining duo Harald “Demonaz” Nævdalin and Reidar “Horgh” Horghagenin with the right to use the name and the court considered the dispute at that time, i.e. in 2014, in favor of Demonaz and Horgh.

Now, however, Demonaz and Horgh are arguing over who is entitled to Immortal’s name and brand. Norwegian According to VG media Demonaz, who founded the band with Abbath in 1991, patented the name for himself in the summer of 2019, but Horgh, who joined the orchestra in 1996, appealed the decision and the appeal was considered in his favor.

“It wouldn’t have occurred to me to register a trademark for myself like Nævdal did, but now I’m forced to fight for my rights that I deserve for making a long career in the band. However, it has been and still is a significant part of my livelihood, ”Horgh commented to VG.

Demonaz, who says he spent days of the year writing a new record alone, justifies his right to the name on the grounds that he is the only remaining original member and the only one to have been involved in all the band’s releases.

“Fans know who the music and lyrics have come from since the beginning of the band and I have no intention of disappointing them, even if such conflicts do arise,” Demonaz commented.

According to Horgh, the duo have had disagreements for a long time, but he himself is working to get the band to tour again soon.

“It’s always been my goal and I know that Immortal fans have wanted it for a long time. I hope that soon we will be able to leave the differences behind and look forward again as a band, ”says Horgh.
