The reigning Finnish champion Kuopio Palloseura has announced the player news today. KuPS has strengthened its ranks with 19-year-old midfielder Oskari Sallis.

Returning to Finland from the Dutch organization Groningen, Sallinen has signed a model 2 + 1 year agreement with KuPS.

KuPS says that Sallinen has been training with the team for several weeks, during which time he had managed to convince the coaching management.

– Sallinen is a breeder of JJK, who made his debut in the ranks of his breeder’s club in Veikkausliiga at the age of 15 in 2017. Very soon after his debut, Sallinen moved to the ranks of FC Groningen, who plays in the Dutch main series. During his three years in the Netherlands, Sallinen played a total of 52 matches in the club’s U17, U19 and U21 teams. The midfielder was also able to play in two practice matches in the ranks of the Groningen representative team, KuPS says on its website.

– It’s been 7 months since the last match, so it’s a lot of passion to play again. The goal is to get a feel for the game and after that I will try to redeem my place from the middle of the representative team as soon as possible, Sallinen states.
