Ilves, who plays in the Finnish Ice Hockey League, and the NHL club Buffalo Sabers have agreed that central forward Arttu Ruotsalainen, 22, will continue in the Tampere club with a loan agreement valid until further notice.

– During the last two seasons, Arttu Ruotsalainen has been one of the best central strikers in the League, with many great elements in the game. He is able to produce solutions and situations through speed, skill, perception of the game as well as combat. In addition, he is a very competitive and well-liked player in Ilves, leading the team by example, Ilves’ sports director Timo Koskela commented on his club’s website.

In the lynx, from the 2017-2018 season, the Swede made a three-year income agreement with Buffalo Sabers in the spring of 2019.

After the Sabers training camp, the Swede returned to Ilves in September, in whose ranks the central striker scored a record score of 15 + 28 = 43 in 44 matches last season. In the Finnish A-national team, the Swede played two matches last season.

The Swede, who joined Ilves’ team practice on Monday, will be available in practice matches starting in two weeks.

– We thank Arttu and Buffalo for making the loan agreement valid until further notice. This solution serves all parties excellently, says Koskela.
