Racing Point stable Sergio Perez is set to return to real action in Silverstone’s second F1 race, which will be run this weekend.

Perez didn’t drive in last week’s Silverstone race as he was diagnosed with a coronavirus just before the weekend. Nico Hulkenberg drove in the race instead of Perez.

Now Racing Point announces that the quarantine of Perez has ended. He is still undergoing a coronavirus test today, after which the stable will make a decision on when the Mexican will return.

In the past, it was uncertain whether he would get out of quarantine before the race weekend, but according to the new guidelines of the British authorities, Perez had enough quarantine for a week. Thus, he may arrive at the depot tomorrow if today’s coronavirus test is negative.

Racing Point will make its final driver decision either tonight or tomorrow morning.
