New information has been received about the hand injury of Winnipeg Jets Finnish striker Patrik Laine, who was sent to the choir by Calgary Flames in the NHL playoffs.

Laine immediately injured his hand in the first match against Flames, with the Jets also losing their No. 1 center to Mark Scheifele.

Team head coach Paul Maurice revealed the Flames match at a press conference about what Laine’s injury is all about.

Fortunately, this is not a fracture, but a sprain injury that should heal in a couple of weeks.

For the Jets, however, it is helplessly too late.

– He couldn’t hold the racket. I don’t think the injury is long-term. It should heal in 2-3 weeks, Maurice says.
