Towel in the ring – Max Verstappen hits the counter with crushing facts

F1 team Red Bull’s Max Verstappen seems to have already thrown a towel almost permanently into the ring under Mercedes ’dominance, although of course he doesn’t directly admit it. For Verstappen, every podium placement in this situation tastes like a win.

Mercedes has built perhaps its most stunning car ever this season. Team manager Toto Wolff has described the creation as monstrous.

The facts are the facts and it is pointless for Verstappen to even try to claim otherwise in preparation for the second consecutive GP weekend in England on the Silverstone track.

– Mercedes is too far. You can’t catch up in full time for a second in lap time and you can’t narrow the gap to half a second per lap in the race, Verstappen emphasizes to Motorsport-Total while referring to the high temperatures promised.

However, Verstappen assures that there is still a will to fight despite the harsh setups.

– I am very motivated to do the best possible this weekend. Anyway, I’m trying to be at least on the podium and let’s see now if anything else is possible, Verstappen suggests hinting at last Sunday’s ring farce.
