The Spanish royals were out in force today to celebrate the country’s National Day at the Royal Palace of Madrid.
Queen Letizia, 48, was the picture of elegance in an eye-catching red coat teamed with a midi black dress, while her husband King Felipe VI, 52, looked dapper in his military uniform.
The couple were joined by their daughters Princess Leonor, 14, and Princess Sofia, 13, who sported face coverings along with their parents while at the high profile military event.
It comes after the Spanish government declared a state of emergency in Madrid to try and halt the spread of coronavirus in one of Europe’s most significant outbreaks.

Letizia sported vibrant crimson heels with her sophisticated ensemble, and added a glamorous smattering of makeup to her look, while keeping her locks down.
Her daughters looked perfectly put together, with Leonor, 14, who is heir to the Spanish throne, opting for a cream blouse and a light blue shirt.
Sofia, 13, appeared just as smart in a white top and navy trousers, teamed with a matching pair of shoes.

King Felipe, who ascended the throne in 2014, looked dapper in full military uniform as he oversaw a military display which included aircrafts drawing trails of red and yellow smoke in the sky to represent the national flag.

Standing on a specially built platform decorated with the royal crest, King Felipe saluted the troops surrounding the family.
Held in the Plaza de la Armería, next to the Royal Palace, the celebration was a stripped back version of the usual pomp and pageantry witnessed on the country’s National Day.

The national holiday commemorates when Christopher Columbus first set foot in the Americas in 1492.
An array of officials including foreign diplomats and members of the autonomous governments are usually invited to attend, however this year the numbers were reduced since the capital is currently in a state of emergency.
The central government’s measures prohibit all non-essential trips in and out of the capital and nine of its suburbs, affecting 4.8 million people. Restaurants must close at 11pm and stores at 10pm. Both must limit occupancy to 50% of capacity.
The national government had ordered police in Madrid to fine people if they left their municipalities without justification. More than 7,000 officers will be deployed to ensure the restrictions are observed, interior minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska said.
