Wedding bells: Jon Pardi, 35, and Summer Duncan, 31, got married on Saturday in Tennessee, nearly six months after they had to delay the nuptials, which were initially scheduled for late May in Montana

Duncan told People about the couple’s initial wedding plans in the Midwest.

‘Originally we were getting married in Montana in May, which was going to be unreal,’ she said. ‘We had an entire lodge rented out for three days for a wedding weekend extravaganza with events daily, a spa, chefs …

‘But then COVID hit, and that all went away. With the sudden postponement – and Jon still having a full tour schedule – we were very limited with available dates.’

Duncan said that a friend invited them to the venue last year for their wedding and Pardi was especially impressed.

‘Jon was like, “This is the most amazing wedding and venue ever,”‘ she said. ‘So when we had to cancel our destination wedding, they were naturally the first venue we called when we knew we had to keep things closer to home.

‘There’s never a right time in 2020 to get married, so after all the planning and replanning we were just happy we got to do it.’

Duncan said that due to the pandemic is quelled, she and Pardi ‘had to make the tough decision’ to twice downsize their guest list, ending up ‘with a small group of just our immediate family and closest friends in town.’

Duncan said she and Pardi ‘hope to eventually have a “wedding tour,” as Jon calls it and celebrate with all our family and friends in California, Nashville and Texas.’

The newlyweds took precautions at their wedding by testing the tests prior to entry, with the ceremony and reception occurring in an indoor/outdoor area with stations stocked with sanitizer and other cleaners, according to the outlet.

The couple had special masks made up and had a sit-down dinner as opposed to a buffet table.

Duncan said their mutual friend, stylist John Murphy, officiated the wedding.

‘He knows us so well; With it being such a special moment, we wanted someone who knows us inside and out and who we feel a connection with,’ she told the publication.
