Amazing! Dr Amir Khan appeared to be in great spirits as he had the coronavirus vaccination on Lorraine on Wednesday

Dr Amir was first seen wearing his scrubs and a face mask as he chatted with a nurse called Jan ahead of her giving him the jab.

The doctor was asked several questions to make sure he was good to go ahead with the procedure and told Lorraine viewers this was all normal.

When Jan asked if he was pregnant Dr Amir laughed as he joked and grabbed his stomach saying: ‘No! It’s just a bit of lockdown weight’.

He was then given the injection and seemed amazed at how painless it was, barely even noticing the jab.

Nurse Jan also joked as she pinched Dr Amir’s arm, saying ‘we’ve got some proper muscles here’, and giving him the first injection.

Cheeky Dr Amir said: ‘I’ve been working out Jan! Are we done? That was it?’

He then turned to the camera and said: ‘To be absolutely honest, I’ve had vaccines before for going travelling, it was nothing at all. Nothing to fear.

‘I’ve had my first COVID vaccine and I’ll be booking in for my second in three weeks.’

He added: ‘I’m feeling absolutely fine. People who have it have to stay under the watchful eye of our physicians for 15 minutes.

‘I might have a sore arm later, but it’s all normal after a vaccine.’

Dr Amir also spoke to Strictly star Ranvir, who was standing in for Lorraine, live on the show and told her that he was feeling ‘a bit emotional’.

Standing outside in his scrubs, he said: ‘Honestly, I feel really positive. It was a bit of an emotional moment really.’

He also reassured people not to ‘worry’ about the vaccine explaining that the Pfizer jab doesn’t not contain any animal products.

He continued: ‘People who are sitting at home watching this and thinking, “Oh I don’t want to go, I am reluctant, I’ve got all these questions”,

‘Just ask yourself, what is the alternative, getting the vaccine and getting out of this whole nightmare that we are in, or finding ourselves in lockdown, seeing the economy nose dive, and more importantly, hearing about more and more deaths.’
