The Bachelorette’s Jarrod Woodgate, 35, gets his first COVID-19 vaccination in Darwin after being considered at risk because of an underlying health condition

Jarrod Woodgate shared a video of himself getting his first COVID-19 vaccination in a post on Instagram on Tuesday.

The 35-year-old former Bachelorette star revealed he’s considered at risk because of a health condition, which is why he received the vaccine relatively early.

‘Extremely grateful to be getting my first COVID-19 vaccination today as I fall into the 1B category due to my MGUS (which gives me a compromised immune system and makes me higher risk for developing blood cancer),’ he explained.

‘Special shout-out to the wonderful staff at Royal Darwin Hospital who put up with me acting like a big baby when it comes to needles and all the frontline healthcare workers who have risked their health to keep us safe.’

Jarrod also urged his followers to also get vaccinated against the deadly virus: ‘When it’s your turn, do your bit and roll up your sleeve!’

The former Bachelor in Paradise star suffers from MGUS (monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance), a condition that causes the body to generate an abnormal protein.

In the video, a nervous Jarrod sat in front of a medical professional with his sleeve rolled up, as she prepared to inject his arm.

Both Jarrod and the healthcare worker wore face masks, with the former reality TV star squirming in his seat as the needle went in.

‘Ahh, I don’t like those. Do I get a lollipop or something?’ he joked, after receiving his vaccination.
