Man, 64, is arrested for murder after man who was found injured at a house in leafy Cambridgeshire village died from his wounds

  • Body was found in the leafy village of Wimblington in Cambridgeshire Thursday 
  • The discovered man later died of his wounds prompting a murder investigation
  • Police have arrested a man, 64, on suspicion of murder following the incident 

A man, 64, has been arrested for murder after another man found injured at a house in a leafy Cambridgeshire village died of his wounds. 

Police have launched an investigation following the death of the man at a property in Wimblington this afternoon.

The force control room was called by the ambulance service at about 12.10pm following the discovery of the man, who had injuries.

He was declared dead shortly afterwards and police are treating his death as suspicious.

A 64-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and has been taken to Thorpe Wood Police Station. 

Detectives are not looking for anyone else in connection with the death at this time and it is being treated as an isolated incident.

A police cordon has been put up at the property and investigations are being carried out at the scene.
