Mothers’ meeting: New mom and gorilla bond over baby in adorable encounter at Boston Zoo

This is the heartwarming moment mother shows her newborn baby to a gorilla at Boston Zoo who has also recently given birth.
Emmily Austin from Jefferson, Maine, was visiting the Franklin Park Zoo along with her five-week-old son Canyon.
She sat with her son beside a window looking in at the gorilla compound where Kiki was patrolling.

The large female gorilla ambled towards Austin and her son and sat on the far side of the glass.
Kiki the gorilla gave birth to her fifth baby in October, her first son, named Pablo.
Several people in the background called out ‘oh my God!’ when the gorilla walked up to the screen.
Baby canyon slept through the entire encounter.
As the gorilla tapped on the window, a woman in the background said ‘that is so cute’.
Ms Austin points behind Kiki and says: ‘Look at her baby.’
After about four minutes, Kiki lifts up her own baby to show the visitors who are enjoying the heartwarming encounter.

Austin said: ‘When I walked into the zoo that day, I never could’ve imagined that we would have had that experience. It was so beautiful, and we walked out just over the moon’
Austin told News Center Maine: ‘ She kept looking around the corner of the cave, and I was like, “She’s looking at Canyon”.
‘For well over five minutes, she just sat there watching [Canyon], just staring at him, just so lovingly.’
She added: ‘When I walked into the zoo that day, I never could’ve imagined that we would have had that experience. It was so beautiful, and we walked out just over the moon.’
