Jenna Coleman is in excellent spirits as she heads out for coffee in London

Despite the ever-changing weather in London this spring, Jenna Coleman seized the opportunity on Monday to head out for a coffee in the capital.

The actress, 35, was in excellent spirits as she donned a sweeping mustard checked trench coat for the outing.

Her appearance comes on the day UK restrictions ease, with people now allowed to eat and drink inside venues, rather than outside.

Breezy! Despite the ever-changing weather in London this spring, Jenna Coleman seized the opportunity on Monday to head out for a coffee in the capital

Jenna donned blue circular shades for the excursion, which saw her head to her local cafe for an espresso.

Underneath her coat she donned a retro cream and beige vest over a shirt, bootcut stonewashed jeans and chunky black boots.

She was seen talking to someone on her mobile on speakerphone before donning her face mask to enter the cafe.

She emerged looking cheerful clutching her take-out coffee.

Jenna is to star in Winston Churchill-inspired TV drama The War Rooms, in the role of Joan Bright Astley, who ran Winston Churchill’s Whitehall bunker during World War II.

Her last appearance was several weeks ago, when she had just been romantically linked to her hunky Parisian accent coach from drama series The Serpent.

She added white trainers for comfort and let her brunette locks fall loosely around her shoulders.

Speaking animatedly on the phone, Jenna strutted along the sunny London street, in the spring-like weather.

Two days ago, Jenna was seen with Fabien Enjalric – the ‘amazing’ accent coach who helped her master the French-Canadian tones she needed for her role in the hit BBC drama.

She was seen smiling broadly with the handsome Parisian, as he gallantly shielded her from the rain with his umbrella, returning her gaze.

Filming on The Serpent finished six months ago, but it was clear from their stroll in Primrose Hill, North London, that the pair’s closeness has endured.

In the drama, Jenna plays Marie-Andrée Leclerc, the girlfriend of serial killer Charles Sobhraj.

Based on real crimes, the show required her to don a 1970s wardrobe of flares, kaftans and oversized sunglasses – although a long grey houndstooth overcoat and £5,000 Chanel 19 handbag made for a more appropriate wardrobe when grabbing a coffee during the British winter last week.

She was initially reluctant to take the bilingual role, believing a native French speaker would be more authentic. But she has been full of praise for the way Mr Enjalric helped her master the language.

‘The last French lesson I had I was seven,’ she said. ‘It was pretty terrifying. When I read the script I was like, ‘There’s just no way, I can’t do it.’ It was an absolute beast. Fabien, my amazing French teacher, taught me the lines phonetically.’

Now based in London, Mr Enjalric, 39, has also been an accent coach to stars including Dame Helen Mirren, Margot Robbie and Saoirse Ronan.

He speaks Italian, Spanish, Chinese Mandarin, Russian and Japanese.

Ms Coleman last year split from Tom Hughes, who played Prince Albert opposite her in ITV’s Victoria.

Sources close to the actress played down her closeness to Mr Enjalric yesterday, saying: ‘They are continuing to work together during this time and were taking some exercise.’
