It comes after Ed sent fans into a frenzy this month after appearing to hint at possible new music in a cryptic social media post.

He took to Instagram to share a photograph of himself holding a guitar as he teased in the caption: ‘Somethings cookin’.’

In the snap, shared with his 32million followers, Ed sat on a stone wall with his back facing towards the camera.

Fans were quick to react to the post as they asked whether Ed was releasing a new album and admitted that they had ‘missed’ the singer.

Ed hasn’t released an album since 2019 when No. 6 Collaborations Project was produced.

That studio album featured work alongside other artists such as Justin Bieber, Camila Cabello, Travis Scott, Eminem, 50 Cent and Cardi B – among others.

While in December 2020 he made a surprise comeback with his single Afterglow following almost 18 months off.

An insider source also told the Sun that Ed sees a partnership with TikTok as a potential new avenue for him to advertise his upcoming work.

It comes after Ed recreated a classic Friends dance with star of the show Courteney Cox.

The 56-year-old actress and the pop superstar joined forces in a playful Instagram video that matched Monica’s choreographed dance with Ross from the sixth season episode The One With The Routine.

‘Just some routine dancing with a friend…’ she captioned the hilarious video while tagging Ed and adding the hashtag, ‘ReRoutine.’

Courteney was wearing a casual low-cut black short-sleeve top and black jeans with matching sneakers for the clip.

Ed also was dressed in a low-key manner with a brown suede jacket over a plain white T-shirt, light jeans and bright red trainers.

The singer kicked off the dance by comically pointing from Courteney’s eyes to his, before she counted out ‘five, six, seven, eight’ while snapping her fingers.

Just like the original, she mimed slapping her partner before swaying side-to-side in front of him.

Then she crouched down on the ground while Ed leapfrogged over her.

The embarrassing dance moves continued, with both flapping their arms up and down like chickens.

They looked particularly silly as they lifted a leg and grabbed it at the ankle while bouncing up and down and holding their hands on the back of their heads.

The video ended in humorous disaster after Courteney rushed to jump into Ed’s arms, but she overshot the move and flew right past him, landing flat on the grass while also pulling Ed down with her.

The dancers even managed to replicate the vibe of the original dance by playing the audio from the show, which featured the audience laugh track, instead of just the original song, Loreta’s Trouble With Boys.
