The trailer begins with Curt Goynes (Don Cheadle) as he arrives at a building, asking another man, ‘You said a man wants to see me?’

He’s lead into an alley out back, asking, ‘He’s not coming in here? What is he, white?’ which doesn’t get an answer.

He heads out back where Jones (Brendan Fraser) is waiting in a car, as Curt gets in and asks, ‘So what’s the score?’

Jones tells him, ‘We’re sending a man who works in an office to pick something up,’ as we see that man – Matt Wertz (David Harbour) – looking quite nervous.

‘You are part of a babysitting team watching his family as he does it,’ Jones continue, as we see the other members of the team, Ronald (Benicio del Toro) and Charley (Kieran Culkin).

The babysitting team is seen entering the family home with masks on as the wife Mary (Amy Seimetz) puts her hands up.

‘Everything is normal, except…’ Ronald says, while waving his gun, while Mary asks what they want.

Matt is seen outside the office asking if he can go home now, when he’s told to, ‘Wait at the house after.’

Confusion ensues when Matt returns home, when Charley says he’s ‘following instructions’ before he pulls out his gun and shoots at someone.

Curt thinks it’s a ‘set up’ as he drives away from the scene, and later he’s talking to Lonnie (Javon Anderson), who says he was offered $10,000 to turn him in, and $15,000 for turning in Jones.

Curt is then driving in his car saying to himself, ‘You think you’re the only one who can make a movie? I can make a move too.’

Curt parks and gets out of the car while Ronald asks for the keys because he likes to ‘listen to the radio.’

The trailer also offers a glimpse at Joe Finney (Jon Hamm), a cop who is seemingly hunting these crooks down.

The trailer winds down with shots of the cast, including Julia Fox, who is asking Ronald how things are going at work.

Another shot shows Frank Capelli (Ray Liotta), telling Ronald, ‘The problem is you’re not smart enough to know how not smart you are. Which makes you unpredictable. Which makes you untrustworthy.’

No Sudden Move, directed by Steven Soderbergh from a script by Ed Solomon (Bill & Ted Face the Music), debuts on HBO Max July 1.
