Willow Smith flashes her abs as she graces the cover of L’Officiel… and reveals she once hated debut track Whip My Hair
Willow Smith bared her abs and inner thoughts as she graced the July 2021 cover of L’Officiel.
The songstress, 20, who is the daughter of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, put her sculpted midriff on display in a black sports bra and pinstripe suit.
In the wide-ranging interview, Willow recounted hating her debut track Whip My Hair – before recently coming to embrace it.

Willow was just nine-years-old when she released her hit track Whip My Hair back in 2010.
While the track would eventually go platinum, Willow admitted she hated the infectious song for a while.
‘For so long, I wanted to condemn that time of my life and forget it, just kind of push it under the rug,’ she revealed. ‘I really regretted.’
But Willow’s dislike of the song eventually changed after she gave it another listen.

Not unlike her current work, Willow came to realize Whip My Hair was all about self-love and empowerment.
‘I realized that the content in my songs has always been centered around self-love and the universe and our humanity’s divine path, about expressing oneself and being unapologetic,’ she said.
‘I listened to Whip My Hair not too long ago, after many years, and realized that it’s the same message. I’m not saying anything that’s against my values, and on top of that, I’m saying things that are in harmony with my values.
‘I kind of just had a huge aha and was like, “Yo, don’t condemn this side of your life because it gave you a foundation and a platform and a fan base of so many loving individuals who have been by my side through this whole crazy, topsy-turvy journey that I’ve had. Now, I would never take it back.”‘

Avril was selected to collaborate on the track Grow because Willow believed the Complicated singer would be able to connect with the themes of the song.
‘I feel like our journeys of just figuring out who we are while being in the spotlight so young [had many similarities],’ she said.
