Heidi Klum pays tribute to adopted home country in ‘perfect’ vintage Valentino for Fourth Of July

She was born and raised in Bergisch Gladbach, Germany, which is near Cologne.

But as of 2008, Heidi Klum has been able to proudly wave the flags of both Germany and her adopted home country of the United States Of America due to her dual citizenship.

And in tribute of the 4th Of July holiday, the longtime supermodel took careful thought when she went to pick out the perfect ensemble for her Sunday celebration.

In the end, the America’s Got Talent judge didn’t have to look beyond her own home for her Sunday best.

‘Sometimes the perfect dress is right in your own closet. Happy 4th of July,’ she wrote in the caption before revealing that she found a ‘@maisonvalentino vintage’ number.

She then proceeded to strike a number of poses decked out in the blast from the past and posted them on her Instagram page.

In one photo, she lifts her right arm triumphantly into the air while doing a wide stance with her legs, which in turn gave a glimpse at her matching underwear. 

In keeping with the leggy theme, she took another selfie snap as she pushed her right leg forward, all while flashing an infectious smile and her blonde tresses styled long and bangy.

For an added touch, the former Project Runway host and judge donned classic sandals and a pair of large-frame sunglasses, which she showcased in a couple of close-up snaps. 

For one of the close-up snaps she slightly dropped the sunglasses down to take a peak over the lenses, while the other showed her doing an over the shoulder look.

During her holiday celebration, Klum took a Sunday drive with husband Tom Kaulitz in a convertible, on what turned out to be another hot summer day in Southern California. 

Back in 2008, leading up to the presidential election, Klum became a naturalized US citizen, and she did it so she was able to vote for Barack Obama for president that year. 

In doing so, she was able to have dual citizenship, and thus, retaining her German nationality. 

‘I’ve been here since ’94. I’ve been paying quite a few taxes in this city [Los Angeles] — in this country,’ Klum told CNN’s Piers Morgan at the time, as reported by Politico.

‘And I felt that it would be right for me to, you know, vote for the next president. And I really, I don’t know, I liked him and I wanted him to win over the other person.’
