Beauty and the Geek host Sophie Monk reveals her fiancé Joshua Gross’ surprise nerdy side

Sophie Monk has revealed her fiancé Joshua Gross is a real-life nerd. 

Appearing on the Today show to promote her new upcoming series Beauty and the Geek, the 41-year-old spoke about his work in neurological robotics.

The former Bardot star, 41, told hosts Kyle Sandilands and Ally Langdon that hosting the series was like life imitating art, as this season she is pairing the couples herself. 

‘It’s just finding the couples that brings the best out of each other,’ she said, before Karl made the comparison to Sophie’s real life partner Joshua.

‘You seem to have found a geek of your own too,’ he remarked. ‘We hear your fiancé works in neurological robotics, is that true?’

‘Yes, I don’t quite know what that is,’ the former Bachelorette dryly responded.

‘So he’s book smart,’ Sophie explained, before contrasting their educational differences.

‘I repeated Year 10 and failed again, so, you know, one of us are intelligent at least,’ she said as Karl broke out into a chortle.

Allison then asked if there’s love to be found in the new season of the series, which last aired in 2014.   

‘So much more than I expected. Just the pressure wasn’t on them for that. But the chemistry was just like flying like the week in. I can’t wait for it,’ Sophie explained.

The blonde bombshell is set to wed her Joshua later this year. 

The reality TV star confirmed details of the big day in an interview with WHO magazine, and said the nuptials will be ‘low-key’.

 ‘When it does happen, it’s going to be a very casual, low-key wedding. That might surprise some people, but it’s what we both want,’ she confessed.  

The reboot season of her show, Beauty and the Geek, is set to air this Sunday at 7pm on Channel Nine.
