Embarrassing moment driver takes an ASTONISHING 8 minutes to manoeuvre car into row of clear spaces

Could this be Britain’s worst reverse car parker? Embarrassing moment driver takes an ASTONISHING 8 minutes to manoeuvre car backwards into a HUGE space

  • Driver repeatedly tries to back Toyota into a car parking space in Ashford, Kent
  • Nurse Andrei Dalca noticed driver’s struggle when he was on his flat’s balcony
  • The 27-year-old described male driver attempting to park in several car spaces
  • Driver eventually succeeds but has not returned to move his car since struggle

The ‘UK’s worst car parker’ was caught on camera taking EIGHT MINUTES to reverse into a spot – repeatedly failing to get into FOUR clear spaces.

Nurse Andrei Dalca was relaxing on his flat’s balcony when a struggling Toyota driver caught his eye as he turned a standard manoeuvre into an embarrassing struggle.

The 27-year-old couldn’t help but record the bizarre incident which sees the ’30 to 40-year-old’ fail to park in four different spaces before finally succeeding after more than 10 ‘frustratingly slow’ attempts.

Even Andrei’s 26-year-old girlfriend Sophie Daniels and cousin Jacob Dalca, 25, join him to playfully mock the driver – calling for him to ‘retake his test’ as they quietly laugh to each other from above.

Andrei later claimed he could be one of the nation’s worst drivers and revealed a week on from the incident the driver hasn’t plucked up the courage to move the five-door hatchback and try again.

The Romanian-born car enthusiast posted the video to Facebook within minutes of the 7.40pm incident and some users described it as ‘painful to watch’ and even labelled the driver ‘unsafe to be on the road’.

Andrei, who lives in Ashford, Kent, said: ‘It was pretty embarrassing. I don’t know who gave him his licence, that’s what’s worrying.

‘What made it funny was the fact that there were straight lines to show you where to park and there’s so many free spaces. I admire his perseverance because some people would have given up.

‘He kept moving backwards and forwards and that’s what caught my attention while I was chilling out after work.

‘When he reversed he could have opened the door into an empty space and looked around to see, but he never did. He was useless.

‘It was frustrating to watch. He could be the worst parker in the UK at the moment. Let’s hope there’s nobody worse, anyway. Maybe he’s a good driver but just can’t park.

‘We were all amazed, and my cousin was getting really annoyed that he didn’t know how to park it. He was quietly guiding him in in Romanian. He eventually got annoyed and just left.

‘It was a relief that he parked in the end, but he hasn’t moved his car since. If I was him I’d get an hour or two with a driving instructor and then try again. He might not embarrass himself then.’

Reverse parking is currently one of the optional test manoeuvres during UK driving tests, meaning examiners choose testing learners on either that, forward bay parking, or pulling up on the road and reversing two car lengths.

Andrei simply captioned his Facebook post with an ellipsis and fellow motorists were quick to react to the six-minute video.

One user commented: ‘That was painful to watch.’

A second said: ‘Surely they can’t be safe to be on the road?’

A third added: ‘How the hell did he get his licence? Utter McNugget.’

Another said: ‘And people wonder why I park miles away from everyone else.’
