Insecure creator and star Issa Rae rocked a red mini-dress and gold stilettos while shooting a mystery project in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

The LA-born, Maryland-raised 36-year-old debuted a new hairdo in the form of waist-length braids by her hairstylist Anthony Dickey.

Issa’s street sighting came as the TV Academy announced she scored her fifth-ever Emmy nomination, this time, for outstanding guest actress in A Black Lady Sketch Show.

Rae – who executive produces the HBO hit – portrayed a face-tatted, yoga-loving gangster called Flop Wilson in the ‘Gang Retreat’ sketch.

‘Being on set with a client when they find out they’re Emmy nominated is [love],’ her make-up artist Joanna Simkin Instastoried on Tuesday.

‘Thankful the nomination came in during the fitting before make-up started because OMG the tears!’

ABLSS also scored nods for outstanding variety sketch series, outstanding writing for a variety series, and outstanding pictured editing for variety programming.

On June 11, Issa (born Jo-Issa Rae Diop) concluded her role as Issa Dee in the fifth and final season of HBO’s Insecure, which was based on her webseries Awkward Black Girl.

‘Said goodbye to some of my favorite people on Earth, on and off screen, this past week,’ Rae – who boasts 5.1M social media followers – tweeted.

‘Never imagined all the doors this would open. Forever grateful to those who paved the way for us to do us.’
