Harry Redknapp reveals what he and wife Sandra think of son Jamie’s baby news

‘Grandchild number eight! We’ve got our hands full!’ Harry Redknapp reveals what he and wife Sandra think of son Jamie’s baby news… and says the gender is being kept a secret

Harry Redknapp and his wife Sandra have revealed that they are ‘very excited’ to be grandparents for the eighth time – after their son Jamie and his girlfriend Frida Andersson announced they are expecting a baby.

Jamie, 48, and Frida, 37, revealed the news of their first child back in May. They collectively have six children – Jamie shares Charles, 16, and Beau, 12, with ex Louise Redknapp, while Frida shares four with hedge fund manager Jonathan Lourie, 58.

Speaking to The Mirror, Harry, 74, said: ‘Jamie is very happy and Frida is happy. We’re lucky that Jamie has two boys already, Charley and Beau, and our other son Mark has five children, so this will be grandchild number eight. We’ve got our hands full!’

Regarding the baby’s gender, Harry added that the pair are keeping it a secret.

Following Harry’s I’m A Celebrity win in 2018, the nation had their hearts warmed by his and Sandra’s love story.

They met in 1964 at a dance in East London and have been inseparable ever since.

The loved-up couple revealed their secrets to a happy marriage, with Harry stating that he loves Sandra ‘to bits’.

Sandra said: ‘I suppose the secret to our marriage is talking and never going to sleep on a row. We understand each other and are just happy being together.’

Last year, they gave up their Sandbanks mansion to move into a stunning five-bedroom house in a leafy suburb of Poole.

About leaving their mansion of 25 years, Harry, who has recently made an appearance in Eastenders, said: ‘It’s a beautiful place but with it being by the water it got too busy for us. We lived on the water for 25 years and we just wanted a bit of a change.’

Harry and Sandra have recently celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary, but the couple admitted they are not big party people, with Harry not liking the attention on him.

Sandra said that instead, they enjoy a nice meal at a restaurant, or she cooks for him at home.

The former football manager, who admitted he would’ve loved to manage England, celebrates his 75th birthday next year.

Explaining that he’s still ‘so busy’, he hopes to slow things down, going so far as to say that he wouldn’t chase anything unless it was ‘something fun’.
