Manchester United legend Jaap Stam identified by FC Cincinnati as target for managerial vacancy despite MLS lockdown

Manchester United Jaap Stam has been linked with the managerial vacancy at MLS club FC Cincinnati.
The Dutchman has been out of a job since he stepped down from his last role at Feyenoord in October, after just seven months in charge.
Despite the MLS currently on suspension due to the coronavirus crisis, the Athletic have reported that Cincinnati have shortlisted Stam and LA Galaxy assistant Dominic Kear as potential candidates for their open vacancy.

The MLS season was just two games into the new season before it was called off due to the coronavirus.
Cincinnati suffered two losses in succession in the Eastern conference putting them third from bottom on the table.
They have been on the lookout for a new manager after former boss Rons Jans, resigned in February after allegedly using a racial slur in the dressing room.
Stam is currently out of work after a disappointing seven-month spell at Dutch club Feyenoord
As a player Stam had great success at Manchester United where he won the Champions League and three Premier League titles.
He also won silverware with PSV Eindhoven, Lazio, AC Milan and Ajax throughout his distinguished playing career.
The former centre-back began his managerial career at Reading in 2016 where he came within a playoff final penalty shootout of promotion to the Premier League.
After then managing PEC Zwolle, his spell at Feyonoord was less successful only winning three out of his eleven games in charge.
