Fans have gone wild for the newly released Oasis track, Don’t Stop, which was released at midnight on Wednesday and have lauded it for its positive tone.
The lyrics, Don’t stop being happy/Don’t stop your clapping/Don’t stop your laughing, have really struck a chord amid the coronavirus pandemic.
But others were disappointed that the song omitted Noel’s estranged brother Liam completely as Noel sang and played the music.

They suggested it was a ‘classic Noel song’ and should have found its way into one of Noel’s solo albums and not been hailed as a new Oasis song.
And it seems as though Liam agrees. In reference to the single’s space-themed artwork, he tweeted: ‘Watch out there’s an asteroid about c’mon you know LG x’
He then seemed to say what he thought of the track and wrote: ‘Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.’

Noel had said that he had found the 15-year-old demo track in a box of old CD’s and had believed it to be ‘lost forever.’
And after hearing the song, fans wrote: ‘ Don’t stop being happy, don’t stop your clapping, don’t stop your laughing. Cheers for the lockdown morale boost.’

The recording was made at a soundcheck in Hong Kong and Noel urged fans to ‘enjoy/argue over.’

He tweeted: ‘Hey there dudes and dollies. Like the rest of the world I’ve had infinite time to kill lately so I thought I’d FINALLY look and find out what was actually on the HUNDREDS of faceless unmarked cd’s I’ve got lying around in boxes at home.
‘As fate would have it I have stumbled across an old demo which I thought had been lost forever.
‘As far as I’m aware there is only one version of this tune ‘out there’ from an Oasis soundcheck in Hong Kong about 15 years ago.

‘I’m not sure whether the soundcheck version pre dates the demo as there’s no date on the cd.’
He continued: ‘I know some of you love this tune so we thought we’d put it ‘out there’ for you to enjoy/argue over. It’ll be up on the internet from midnight.
‘The song is called: Don’t Stop… Hope everyone is staying safe and trying to ride out the lockdown with the minimum of fuss. You’re welcome by the way.’
The song is thought to be written around the time of the band’s 2005 record, Don’t Believe the Truth.

It’s not known what Noel’s estranged brother Liam thinks of the release.
But fans took to Twitter in their droves to say how excited they were to have some good news amid the coronavirus pandemic.
They wrote: ‘Never did a think that at this time in me life I’d be sat buzzin for a new oasis release.’
‘An Oasis tune dropping tonight, thank you King.’
‘Oasis is literally releasing a new song at midnight, nothing surprises me anymore in 2020.’
‘New Noel music in these uncertain times. HELL YES!’
‘I love waking up to see Oasis are releasing a new song.’
‘We’ve been blessed by the king himself my life is saved.’
Mixed response: While Oasis fans were thrilled with the news, some thought Noel’s ‘you’re welcome’ tweet was a little pompous
Although some people were not so keen on the idea and wrote: ‘Honestly wouldn’t have bothered me until that last line. Everyone loves new music, but announcing it as if he’s a god amongst men grinds my gears – especially when Oasis really are a thing of the past and his career isn’t hitting the heights he think it is.’
‘Find it slightly odd Noel is releasing this song under the name of Oasis, plenty of songs he’s used for NGHFB that were old oasis songs.’
Meanwhile, Liam announced a free concert at London‘s 02 Arena for NHS staff working on the frontlines of the coronavirus crisis.
The former Oasis frontman, 47, took to his Instagram to reveal the news earlier this month as he gushed that it was ‘an honour’ to put on the show as ‘we are very lucky’ to have them during this global pandemic.
Taking place on October 29, all staff who work in NHS hospitals in the UK will be eligible for two free tickets to the show for themselves and a guest.
Sharing his delight about the show, Liam said: ‘It’s an honour to announce that I will be doing a gig for the NHS and careworkers at London’s TheO2 on October 29th. They do an incredible job, we are very lucky to have them. LG x’

All staff who are attending must provide either valid NHS staff ID or a Primary Care Trust ID card, with the name on their card matching the one on the ticket.
It has yet to be confirmed if any other musicians will join Liam on stage at the show, and tickets will go on ‘sale’ from 9am on Wednesday 15 April 2020.
Liam is just one of the stars who have announced free shows for NHS workers, with the Manic Street Preachers and The Script to name a few.

Last month Liam told fans that he will be going ahead with a charity concert in aid of the National Health Service with or without his brother Noel.
The former Oasis star tweeted the news to fans as he once again pleaded with Noel to get involved so they could raise funds for NHS workers during the coronavirus lockdown.
It came after Liam admitted that he had cried over missing his estranged brother ‘terribly,’ as he once again demanded he and Noel reunite for a charity show.

Once again pleading with his brother the British star added: ‘C’mon Noel Gallagher.’
It came after Liam demanded a reunion with his brother Noel, to raise funds for the NHS, as they continue to be pushed to the limit during the COVID-19 lockdown.
Brothers Liam and Noel’s on-going argument continued following the Oasis split in 2009, where during a BRIT acceptance speech Liam thanked every member of the band except for Noel.
Liam took to Twitter in March to reiterate his wish that Noel reunite with him onstage to raise charity funds in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, but also revealed that he wanted to repair their tattered relationship.
He wrote on the micro-blogging site: ‘Rite sick of pleading begging etc no more olive branches I DEMAND an oasis reunion after this is all over all money going to NHS c’mon you know As we were LG x.’ [sic]
In response to his tweet, a fan suggested that he wanted his ‘brother back’ and that it wasn’t just about bringing their old group together, prompting the star to concede: ‘I miss him terribly I need his love.’
