Three men were arrested in the early hours of this morning as police continue to question a 15-year-old girl and 28-year-old woman after a man was stabbed to death on a road in Birmingham.
The men – aged 22, 30 and 40 – were arrested at separate homes in the Nottingham area and are being taken to the West Midlands for questioning, police said.
The victim, who has not been formally identified, was found slumped at the junction of Bristol road and Mill Pool Way, Bournbrook, yesterday at 4.55pm with stab wounds in his chest. He was rushed to hospital but pronounced dead at 6.15pm.
The girl and woman were arrested at the scene.

A murder investigation has been launched by West Midlands police after the man, who was taken hospital, died at 6.15pm today
Detective chief inspector Stu Mobberley, who is leading the investigation, said: ‘We’ve made rapid progress overnight having worked with colleagues at Nottinghamshire police.
‘Our enquiries continue and we are actively seeking at least one other person.
‘I still really need to hear from anyone who was in Mill Pool Way, Bournbrook, at around 4 – 5pm yesterday and who saw what happened or any disorder to get in touch.
‘They may have seen something important so please call.’

A police van and two cars remained near the top of Mill Pool Lane this morning. Plain-clothes officers were seen examining the murder scene.
A woman who lives close to where the stabbing took place said: ‘We went out at 4.30pm and came back at 6.30pm and saw lots of police vans. The next thing we knew the road was closed off.
‘We were told there was a major incident and it would be on the news later. We drove round the other way and had to walk back to the house.
‘It’s a shock because this is a quiet area where we’ve never had any problems.’
Another neighbour said: ‘It’s terrible. It’s very close to home.’
The girl and the woman who were arrested at the scene remain in police custody
A murder investigation has been launched.
Bristol road has now been re-opened but a police scene tent remains in Mill Pool Way.
They urged people to call 101 or message via the Live Chat on the website, quoting 3112 from August 22.
