Callum Hudson-Odoi is seen for the first time arriving at Chelsea training since his arrest

Chelsea and England footballer Callum Hudson-Odoi has been photographed for the first time since his arrest on suspicion of raping a model.

The 19-year-old Premier League star was seen today in a car as he arrived for training at Chelsea’s Chobham base, two days after he was arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning.

He was also spotted on Tuesday training with the team, and leaving his mother’s house in South London earlier in the day.

Today, Premier League teams have been allowed to restart training for the first time since the coronavirus put a stop to all footballing activities on March 13.

Pictures from today have shown Chelsea players returning to the training ground, and training in small groups with limited close-contact, with the England international involved in the activities.

At around 4 a.m. on Sunday, police officers took the Hudson-Odoi into custody after receiving a call from a woman who said that she was raped at his penthouse suite in Battersea, South London. He was then released on bail.

The player retreated to the family home near Wimbledon on Monday.

A police spokesman said: ‘Police and London Ambulance Service were called at 03:53hrs on Sunday, 17 May to a report of an unwell woman.

‘When emergency services attended, a woman reported that she was raped. She was taken to hospital.

‘A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of rape. He was released from custody and bailed to return on a date in mid-June.’

Police returned to Hudson-Odoi’s property on Sunday to continue their investigations into the matter.

The Sun reported that Hudson-Odoi met the woman online and invited her to his home, in breach of lockdown guidelines, sending a vehicle to collect her.

Neighbours of the 19-year-old told The Sun that his acquaintance was ‘very glamorous’ before the property was ‘crawling with police’.

The report says that the Chelsea star is said to have asked the woman to arrive at his property wearing lingerie and that the pair exchanged flirtatious messages beforehand.

It was revealed by Hudson-Odoi in March that he had contracted the coronavirus, and he reportedly underwent a coronavirus test yesterday, but there was speculation that he would not be allowed to return to training regardless on the test’s result.

There were fears within the club that Hudson-Odoi may have to go into isolation after he broke lockdown rules by meeting up with the woman.

He was seen earlier on Tuesday leaving his mother’s house in South London, and he was also pictured visiting his brother, who is also his agent, at his house on Thursday. People are not permitted to visit family members inside their homes under the country’s coronavirus measures.

On Monday, Premier League officials agreed to stage one of the return to training, which allows players to train in small groups while maintaining social distancing. Contact training is not yet allowed.

A total of 748 players and staff from 19 Premier League teams have all been tested, with six positive tests across three clubs.

The players or staff who have tested positive will now self isolate for seven days, and the results from the remaining club will reportedly be released later on Tuesday.

Hudson-Odoi was one of the first high-profile sports stars to contract the killer virus back in March along with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, leading to the shut down of English football.

Some of Frank Lampard’s players and staff were tested for Covid-19 at their Cobham base on Monday, and those who were not were reportedly tested today.

‘I had the virus which has cleared now. I fully feel good, I feel fit, so I am feeling back to myself so it is all good,’ he said at the start of April.

‘I had it [the illness] three weeks ago now I think, on a Monday when I felt a bit hot and I was thinking this is a bit unusual, why do I feel this hot. The next day I was feeling back to normal.

‘I thought it was just a minor temperature thing, but obviously it wasn’t. I said to myself this wasn’t actually that bad, the symptoms, and I said to myself “I feel good, I feel better”.

‘Everyone has been asking me how I have been which has been class from them. They have been showing me support and saying “Cal, get well soon, I hope you are okay now”.

‘It has been very warming and a good feeling to know you have got your team-mates behind you, backing you and making sure you are feeling well and encouraging you.’
